I obtained my B.S.E. and M.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, and then went to Wayne State University, Detroit, MI for my Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering. During my time at Michigan, I focused on biochemistry and neuromuscular regeneration, which gave me the foundations to pursue tissue engineering and regenerative medicine related to spinal cord injury during my time at Wayne State. Additionally at WSU, I felt the call to teach and then pursued a Post-Doc for Engineering Education at Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI where I explored gamification of learning to improve student engagement with learning. I then returned full circle to the University of Michigan, Department of Biomedical Engineering, where I teach Senior Design, Junior Design, and sophomore level labs.
