Biography

Dr. Kourosh Kalayeh is a Research Investigator in the Department of Radiology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a Principal Investigator with the Urinary Dynamics and Ultrasound (UDUS) Research Group (https://udus.medicine.umich.edu/).  His work integrates engineering principles, computational modeling, and ultrasound imaging to advance the understanding of urinary tract and pelvic floor biomechanics and to translate those insights into improved diagnostics and devices.

Dr. Kalayeh earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (Solid Mechanics), with a minor in Applied Mathematics, from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (Baltimore, MD) in 2018, and a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic, Tehran, Iran) in 2013.  He joined the University of Michigan in 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher and co-founded the UDUS group.
