Jeffrey A. Jamison, Ph.D. is a Principal Consultant at Ocular Consultants with over 25 years of experience in preclinical drug development, IND-enabling study design, and life science business strategy. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan, where he received the BME Alumni Merit Award in 2020, and currently serves as Mentor in Residence with Michigan’s Technology Transfer Network (T3N), where he mentors academic entrepreneurs and supports technology commercialization initiatives across the state’s academic institutions. Dr. Jamison has successfully founded and exited multiple life sciences ventures, collectively securing over $5 million in non-dilutive SBIR funding and advancing multiple assets from concept to clinic. His expertise spans biomarker discovery and validation, CRO management and auditing, GLP toxicology study design, and the development of translational disease models to support drug discovery programs, with deep knowledge in ocular electrophysiology, advanced imaging techniques, specialized injection methods, and extensive disease model development. With prior leadership roles at Pfizer and Alcon Laboratories, Dr. Jamison brings deep pharmaceutical industry experience in preclinical development, having contributed to advancing therapeutic candidates from early discovery through regulatory submission. He specializes in building cross-functional teams, optimizing drug development workflows, and mentoring life science entrepreneurs while providing strategic guidance to early-stage biotechnology companies navigating FDA and ICH regulatory pathways, with particular depth in ophthalmology but broad applicability across life sciences.
