U-M’s Biomedical Engineering (BME) is a joint department of the university’s top-ranked Michigan Engineering and prestigious U-M Medical School, fostering collaboration and leveraging educational opportunities and research initiatives for the graduate program. We encourage applications from students with varied scientific backgrounds, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or biology. BME welcomes applications from all qualified individuals.
Deadline to Apply for Fall 2026:
Ph.D. – December 1, 2025
Master’s – January 15, 2026
The general GRE is neither required nor accepted for the Master’s or Ph.D. programs.
