Our BME Exchange meeting on Thursday evening, March 28, welcomed alumni Justin Sweet, M.S.E., Principal Technical Field Engineer, Medtronic, and Anthony Bainor, Ph.D., Associate Principal, IQVIA Value & Access Strategy Consulting. Eighteen BME students attended the session, where Justin discussed how much he enjoys being a Clinical Specialist because he can advise surgeons and other health professionals who use Medtronic’s devices and therapies. He travels to hospitals in the Michigan region and loves not having an office or a desk.
Anthony has found a perfect harmony between his scientific background and his love of engaging with others as a consultant to companies in the pharmaceutical industry. His passion is with those using their knowledge and skills to fight cancer and improve patients’ access to healthcare. “It’s the best of both worlds,” he said.
Ironically, Justin and Anthony were in the Michigan Marching band together and were in the BME master’s program at the same time. It was a wonderful reunion and a great opportunity for our current students to network with professionals!
