Congratulations to DeAndre Jamison, Laboratory/Classroom Services Manager; Evan Murphy, Research Administrator Senior; and Jessica Polchinski, Administrative Assistant Intermediate, on receiving the latest BME Outstanding Core Staff Award, which honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to our community or exemplify special qualities that elevate our shared work. Nominees are considered for their ability to foster collaboration and mutual respect, demonstrate reliability and commitment, creatively solve problems, support the success of others, and proactively step in when help is needed. Above all, this recognition celebrates those who go the extra mile to create a cooperative, supportive environment for faculty, staff, and students.

DeAndre Jamison

DeAndre is an exceptionally supportive and impactful member of the department, whose dedication has elevated the BME Design Spaces into a welcoming and empowering hub for students, faculty, and staff. Through his attentive mentorship, creative problem-solving, and proactive leadership, DeAndre fosters an inclusive atmosphere of collaboration and mutual respect, enabling countless design teams and student groups to thrive. He goes above and beyond—remembering student names, providing expert guidance, and consistently seeking innovative ways to improve our resources and create new opportunities. DeAndre’s genuine care, generosity, and unwavering commitment leave a lasting positive impact, making him truly deserving of this award.

Evan Murphy

Evan has quickly become an invaluable member of our research administration team, stepping up with reliability, proactive support, and exceptional communication. Whether navigating complex finances, coordinating multi-PI subawards, or assisting with fellowship and grant submissions, Evan consistently demonstrates creativity, patience, and attention to detail—often going above and beyond to ensure success and find cost-saving solutions. His enthusiastic and helpful approach has made a significant positive impact on our labs and our productivity, and we’re grateful for his tireless dedication and collaborative spirit.

Jessica Polchinski

Jessica is a truly outstanding member of the BME team, always greeting everyone with a smile and consistently going above and beyond to support students, staff, and faculty. Whether helping with OPS, event planning, travel, or navigating complex scheduling needs, Jessica’s kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail shine through in every task she undertakes. She is approachable, proactive, and reliable—an invaluable team player and a wonderful mentor whose positive attitude makes every interaction easier and more welcoming. Jessica’s dedication and unwavering support have made a lasting impact on our community, and she is deeply deserving of this recognition.
