Congratulations to BME Ph.D. student Mia Bonini in the Nordsletten Lab for receiving the Early-Career Scholarship Award at the Functional Imaging and Modeling of the Heart (FIMH) 2025 conference. The award recognized Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers and was judged based on a bio-sketch, the conference proceedings paper they submitted, and the presentation (either oral or poster). Mia gave an oral presentation and was one of five people who won the award. Her work is titled “Patient-Specific Hemodynamic Modeling for Patients with Left Ventricle Assist Device.”
“It was a privilege to share my research at FIMH among so many inspiring scientists. I’m deeply honored to receive this award and grateful for the recognition,” she said. “This work reflects the collaborative effort of our lab and highlights the value of patient-specific modeling in improving our understanding of treatment outcomes for patients with severe heart failure supported by left ventricular assist devices.”
