If a Biomedical Engineering Master’s degree is in your future, the Sequential Undergraduate/Graduate Studies (SUGS) helps you get there faster by allowing up to 9 credits to be double-counted.
This program is for current University of Michigan Undergraduates from eligible departments:
Current University of Michigan undergraduate students in the following majors are eligible for the BME SUGS program:
- Biomedical Engineering
- Cellular and Molecular Biomedical Sciences (CMBS)
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
- Industrial Operations Engineering
- Materials Science and Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Nuclear Engineering & Radiological Sciences
- Robotics
Please note that dual majors are not eligible for SUGS.
High-impact research
Students in the SUGS program have the opportunity to conduct research with faculty in state-of-the-art laboratories in the U-M Medical School and College of Engineering, and in clinics at the University of Michigan Hospitals and the Ann Arbor Veteran’s Administration Hospital.
Additional Highlights of the program include:
- Students may double count up to 9 credits between the BSE and the MSE
- Students can achieve the MSE in 2 terms
- The BME SUGS program allows students to begin in either Fall or Winter term
The program includes clinical conferences, seminars, and daily contact with world-class researchers which could prepare you for:
- Ph.D. programs
- Medical School
- Work in industry
