Focus: Neocortical network dynamics in normal brain and role in psychiatric disease
We focus on electrophysiologic and behavioral signatures of factors relevant to mental health including sleep, circadian rhythms, stress, and socialization. We use a mix of long-term electrophysiology recordings that employ cutting edge algorithms for data processing, with novel behavioral quantification of animals in their home environments over days to weeks of behavior. We work with data analytics experts to process data and extract biomarkers of mental health-related factors on the brain and behavior at the timescales of action and decision-making.
