Research Interests
The work in Prof. Violi’s group aims at increasing the understanding of the interactions of nanoparticles with biological systems. We use computational methods to identify specific molecular mechanisms at the nano-bio interface. Examples of systems include nanoparticles with cell membranes, lung surfactants, and the transport of particles. We are interested in cell signaling and the overall mechanical functioning of membranes.
