My lab’s primary objective is to decipher how molecular signals orchestrate spatiotemporal cell activity, driving tissue morphogenesis during normal and pathological development. We employ two model systems to achieve this goal. First, we use the early fruit fly embryo, Drosophila Melanogaster, to investigate the role of cell divisions in early organ morphogenesis. Secondly, our research focuses on developmental cartilage in a mouse model, aiming to elucidate how molecular and mechanical signals coordinate chondrocyte activity spatiotemporally and how these activities drive changes in 3D cartilage morphology in normal development and human genetic skeletal disorders.
