MS FAQs

Q: How long does it generally take to complete a BME MS degree?

The MS program takes 1.5 – 2 years to complete.

Q: My application was rejected and I would like to apply for a future term. Can I use the same application?

Applicants who were not recommended for admission must submit a new application and pay the application fee. If the test scores are still valid, there is no need to send new scores.

Q: Can I apply to more than one Rackham program?

Yes, but you will need to submit a new application form, materials, and fee for each program that you apply to.

Q: Do you allow part-time students in your MS program?

The Rackham Graduate School requires all MS students to complete their program in no more than 5 years. This does allow for students to participate part time, however there may be different requirements for International Students based on VISA requirements. Q: Do you offer classes online?

A: BME MS program expects students to participate in person and on campus.

Q: Do you accept students in the Winter or Spring term?

A: BME MS only accepts applicants for Fall term.

Q: Can I complete a Dual Degree?

A: Students in the BME MS program can complete a Dual Degree or a Certificate program in addition to their MS program. Students must complete at least 1 term in the BME MS program before adding in any additional degrees/certificates.
