Undergraduate Curriculum
Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering students can choose to complete their depth requirements in one of 9 biomedical engineering tracks.

- Biomedical Imaging & Bioelectrics
- Biomechanics
- Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical Engineering
- Medical Device Development
- Neural Engineering
- Pre-Health
- Systems Biology
- Tissue Engineering & Regenerative Medicine
Depth Requirements consist of 21 credit hours, which must satisfy criteria in the following three areas:
Engineering Expertise: (12 credits)
- Must be engineering course work.
- At least 6 credits must be BME courses.
- All courses must be at the 300 level or higher.
Cross-Disciplinary Requirements: (6 credits)
- Course work must be in STEM or related technical field (Entrepreneurship, Bioinformatics, Movement science, Med school, etc.).
- Courses must be at the 200 level or higher.
- Science courses must be designated as Natural Science (NS) in the LSA Course Guide.
Profession in Practice: (3 credits)
- Courses that are primarily hands-on or experiential learning (e.g. lab, design, practicum, or research).
- Courses fall under science, engineering, entrepreneurship, or computation.
