U-M BME’s Cindy Chestek, Professor, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Robotics, along with David Blaauw, the Kensall D. Wise Collegiate Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, will lead the design and construction of an implantable, long-term brain computer interface (BCI) as part of a collaborative $29.7M grant with Stanford University donated from the Marcus Foundation–with $19M funding the U-M research.
