Jan Stegemann Receives 2025 Rackham Master’s Mentoring Award

Rackham Master’s Mentoring Awards honor mentors who, through a variety of forms, demonstrate commitment to fostering the intellectual, creative, and professional growth of their master’s students.

Congratulations to Jan Stegemann, Professor, Biomedical Engineering, on receiving a 2025 Rackham Master’s Mentoring Award. Rackham Master’s Mentoring Awards honor mentors who, through a variety of forms, demonstrate commitment to fostering the intellectual, creative, and professional growth of their master’s students.

Award recipients are selected in part on how they ensure that students master key content and skills of their field, create a supportive environment for students to pursue careers that make use of their graduate education, inspire commitment to integrity and life-long excellence in the discipline or profession, and contribute generally to graduate education at the University of Michigan.

“It is gratifying to be recognized for working with our Master’s students as they prepare themselves for impactful careers in biomedical engineering and beyond,” Dr. Stegemann said. “The Master’s degree can be a key stepping stone in helping students to achieve their academic and professional goals.”
