Congratulations to Alexandra Piotrowski-Daspit, Assistant Professor, Biomedical Engineering and Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division, on receiving an EDGE in Tech Athena Award in the Early Career Category from EDGE in Tech at the University of California. The award recognizes those who embody, encourage, and promote the inclusion of women and BIPOC in technology.
Dr. Piotrowski-Daspit received her EDGE award in the Early Career category. This category, highlighting those with fewer than five years in their profession, focuses on the nominee’s leadership potential, their efforts in expanding opportunities for engaging women in science and technology, and their commitment to undertaking technically innovative work.
“I am very grateful to my mentors for nominating me for this award,” said Dr. Piotrowski-Daspit. “It’s wonderful and humbling to be recognized in this way. Honors like this serve as an encouragement to continue our efforts to make science and technology accessible to all people and to continue organizing events that support our message of diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
Winners will receive their awards on March 8, 2024, at the EDGE in Tech Symposium, which is held at UC Davis in conjunction with the annual Diversity in Tech Symposium, celebrating innovators and exploring the experiences of women and BIPOC in tech-related fields.
