The work in Prof. Violi group aims at increasing the understanding of the interactions of nanoparticles with biological systems. We use computational methods to identify specific molecular mechanisms at the nano-bio interface. Example of systems include nanoparticles with cell membrane, lung surfactant, transport of particles. We are interested in cell signaling and overall mechanical functioning of membranes.
